Elephant Walk

A carnival-like atmosphere, complete with games of skill and chance, sweeps the campus each fall during Elephant Walk, a Texas A&M University tradition since 1922. Held yearly in advance of the last regularly scheduled football game of the season, Elephant Walk marks the symbolic end of graduating Aggie seniors’ usefulness to the student body. Seniors “wander” around campus like dying elephants whose usefulness to the herd is over. Led by Senior Yell Leaders, the walk begins after yell practice at Kyle Field, stopping at numerous memorable campus locations where the students participate in brief yell practices.
